Get to Know the Designer, Becky Hosmer

Becky Hosmer

Describe yourself in five words!

Becky Hosmer

What inspired you to start Anna Beck?

I was curious and inspired by the local artisans during my travels in Southeast Asia. I just knew I wanted to be a part of it. It wasn’t too long after that I found a workshop in Bali and began designing jewelry that I personally wanted and shared it with family and friends. As time progressed, I found people loved the jewelry and began asking where they can get it. Thus was born Anna Beck.

What is your favorite piece that you’ve designed to-date and why?

Rings. I don’t have one in particular that I can truly say is my favorite, but personally I have a big collection of rings that represent different times in my life over the past 15 years. So I have an affinity and personal connection with the rings I design. Each stone has a different meaning to me so each ring in my collection is a “one-of-a-kind.” When I design them, I prefer more raw and organic looking stones and I love the big and bold look.

What impact do you want to have on the world?

I want to be a connector that builds bridges for people from all parts of the world. From an artisan in Bali to a soon-to- be mother that’s a patient at Bumi Sehat, a beautiful clinic my friend Robin started in Bali that provides free healthcare for expectant mothers.

It’s truly about bringing things full circle and connecting, thus the shape of the circle that you’ll find in a lot of our pieces.

My goal is for each person wearing Anna Beck to connect with the essence of Bali; which is about balance, love and connection. We all deserve that.

Who inspires you?

People who see a need and fill it, without question. I truly feel that we were all connected for a reason—to echo one another’s voices because we are stronger together.
